How to Apply
Requirements
You must be at least 21 years old to apply and meet
one of the requirements below:
- TOEFL 470 or higher
- TOEIC 550 or higher
- Completion of all level 4 courses in the UW ELP Campus Intensive English Program
- An ACE (American Cultural Exchange) score of at least level 5
Admission
We handle applications on a first-come, first-served basis.
Follow these steps to apply:
- Read this Web site carefully, especially the costs, dates, and refund policies on our Information Sheet.
- Download the Application Form from our Web site or, if you would like an application and brochure mailed to you, e-mail us or call 1-206-543-6242.
- Complete and mail the application with:
- a $50 nonrefundable application fee
- a $40 express postage fee (recommended)
- $300 nonrefundable tuition deposit
- a statement or document issued by a bank or other financial institution confirming financial support for tuition, fees and all expenses during your time in the program
- a letter of financial guarantee
- proof of your TOEFL or TOEIC score or completion of level 4 classes in the Campus IEP or advanced in the Downtown IEP
- a copy of the page in your passport with your picture, name, and birthdate
It usually takes seven to nine business days to process an application. Then, we will send you a Visa Eligibility Form (I-20).
- After you receive the Visa Eligibility From (I-20), contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to schedule an F-1 visa interview appointment.
- Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee ($200).
- Take your I-20 and supporting documents to the interview.
Please Note: Admission to the English for Tourism and Hospitality Certificate Program does not mean you are accepted to the University of Washington.
