A campus of the University of Washington, UW Bothell combines small class sizes and outstanding instruction to provide you with a quality education. As a freshman, you will experience an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes hands-on field work that will prepare you to study in your major. UW Bothell offers several degrees.

UW Bothell, in the heart of the high tech industry, is just a 30-minute commute from the UW Seattle campus. It is close to the business and cultural centers of Everett, Bellevue and Seattle. See directions to the UW Bothell campus

Students completing the Campus Intensive English Program spring quarter are not eligible to begin courses at UW Bothell during summer quarter. At this time, freshman are eligible to begin their studies at UW Bothell during fall, winter or spring quarters only.

 
Conditional Admission to UW Bothell
The University of Washington International & English Language Programs and the University of Washington Bothell offer a conditional admissions program to pursue an undergraduate degree at the UW Bothell campus. Conditional admission applies to students who are beginning undergraduate studies or are transfer students with 1-79 credits.

If you complete the UW Seattle Campus Intensive English Program requirements, you do not have to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or other standardized test scores as proof of language proficiency to UW Bothell.

Do you meet the admission requirements of UW Bothell except for the English language proficiency requirement?
  • Composition and/or Literature in your native language (4 years)
  • Mathematics (3 years)
  • Social Studies (3 years)
  • Science (2 years)
  • Foreign Language (2 years)
  • Fine, Visual & Performing Arts (1/2 year)
  • Academic Electives (1/2 year)
If so, you may satisfy UW Bothell's English language proficiency requirement by attending the UW Seattle's Intensive English Program (IEP) and
  1. Completing these courses with a grade of at least 80 percent:

    • Academic Listening & Speaking 5
    • Academic Reading & Writing 5
    • Academic Reading & Speaking 5
    • Applied Academic Skills
    • 3 additional upper division electives

  3. Obtaining a recommendation from the Senior Director of UW International & English Language Programs.
Application Process
Step 1: Apply to UW Seattle's Intensive English Program (IEP).

Step 2: While you are studying in the UW Seattle Campus Intensive English Program, our Academic Advisor will help you apply for admission to UW Bothell.

You may also apply for admission to UW Seattle's IEP and to UW Bothell's undergraduate studies before you leave your country. In this way, you will have your conditional admission letter from UW Bothell and I-20 from UW Seattle's International & English Language Programs prior to your visa interview.
