What to Expect
Here are some of the many things you can expect when you study in the AAPS program on the University of Washington main campus.

Before Classes Begin

Housing
You are responsible for securing your own housing and transportation while staying in Seattle. You may stay with a host family, in shared housing, in an apartment, or with friends or relatives. Additionally, on a space available basis, you can obtain accommodation in the UW dormitories. For more information, please visit the Housing page.

Medical Insurance
All students must have medical insurance. The UW International & English Language Programs offers inexpensive medical insurance for those who do not have coverage from their own countries. For more information about medical insurance, please go to the Student Services pages...... »

U-Pass (Bus Pass)
As an AAPS student, at any time you can choose to purchase a Seattle area discounted bus pass for students called a U-Pass. You can ride the buses in and around Seattle, ride the University of Washington Night Shuttle, and get discounts in many local businesses with your U-Pass.

No Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited in all university facilities. Please read the smoking policies of the University of Washington and of the City of Seattle policy before you come to class.

Opening Reception and Orientation
There will be an opening reception and orientation on the first day of the program. You will be able to meet other students and your instructors, ask questions, obtain the necessary orientation materials for the program and we will validate your immigration paperwork.
