The Panama Hotel (Level 2)

The Panama Hotel

How are you? I'm fine and I hope you are, too. When you come to visit next month, I want to take you to a really wonderful cafe I found the other day. It's called the Panama Cafe and its famous for its delicious tea from China and Japan. The cafe is also famous because it's located at 6th Ave S. and S. Main St. in the International District. Before World War II, 6th and Main was the center of Japan Town. The current owner wanted to preserve the unique history of the cafe and the hotel that's located upstairs so she decorated the walls with historical photographs of Seattle, especially that corner before World War II. Besides the delicious tea and the historical significance of the building, it's a great place to study or chat with friends. My favorite thing to do there is to drink some Chinese white tea and read a book at the big table. Anyway, I can't wait until you get here. I want to take you everywhere! We could even go to a baseball game if you want. Let me know, okay?

Take care,

Naoko
